Brookgreen Gardens is a National Historic Landmark with the most significant collections of figurative sculpture in the country and has the only accredited zoo on the coast of the Carolinas. Brookgreen Gardens is located south of Myrtle Beach, SC between Murrells Inlet and Pawleys Island and the garden is open to the public daily. Cost is $7.00 for adults and the receipt is good for 7 days. Brookgreen Gardens has 9,100 acres. What is Brookgreen Gardens was originally four rice plantations. It also has a sculpture garden, fountains, zoo and a butterfly house. Their website is www.brookgreen.org. Brookgreen Gardens is named by TripAdvisor as one of the 2013 Top Ten Public Gardens in the United States.
